Cierge app · Last updated: July 15, 2026
Cierge is designed to respect your privacy. This page explains, in plain language, what data the app processes and why.
Everything you count (prayers, rosaries), your history, your streaks, your custom prayers, and your settings are stored locally on your phone (SQLite database). This data is never sent to our servers — in fact, we have no server that receives it. No account or sign-up is required.
The "Voice" mode uses the microphone to count the prayers you say aloud, through your operating system's speech recognition. Processing happens on the device; no audio recording is kept or transmitted by Cierge.
Cierge is free and funded by optional advertising (you choose to watch an ad to support the app). This advertising is provided by the mediation platform Appodeal and its partners. To deliver ads, these partners may process device identifiers and usage data, including the advertising identifier (IDFA on iOS).
To display the Gospel of the day in your language, Cierge may download a translation model (Google ML Kit) and perform the translation entirely on your device. The text is not sent to any online translation service.
The Gospel of the day is retrieved from the public API of AELF (Association épiscopale liturgique pour les pays francophones). This request transmits only the requested date; no personal data is sent. The retrieved text is then cached locally. Liturgical texts © AELF.
Cierge is not specifically directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data about them.
Since your data stays on your device, you remain in control: deleting it simply means clearing the app's data or uninstalling it. If you have any questions, contact us.
